Box Twenty were appointed for Building Services consultancy services associated with the refurbishment and redevelopment of 37 Doughty Street in West London.
The building involves the conversion of the existing residential units to provide up to 6no. student apartments within an existing Grade 2 listed building which is currently used as residential. The modifications involve alterations to existing walls, provision of new kitchens, bathrooms and general improvements to the units.
Box Twenty were appointed to produce a developed design set of documents for tender in a two-stage approach. The first stage to define and agree the Energy & M&E strategies for the development and develop our “RIBA Stage 2 Concept Design” proposals with the client team.
The second stage is to undertake more detailed surveys once access is provided below floors and other areas in order to further define the routes and locations of new services and main plant required. At this stage we will undertake our “RIBA Stage 3 Developed Design” proposals which will be used for final tender to M&E Contractors, with final coordination to be completed.
