New facility for the RSPCA Bath & District Branch with provision of a new Intake Block.

This new-build facility was for the care of rescued dogs & puppies and consisted of a number of different internal spaces such as normal & isolation sleeping kennels, food prep, bath & groom, observation suites, vets suite & laundry together with staff and office accommodation areas.

The building was single-storey & arranged around an external courtyard with separate outdoor facilities provided for Isolation paddocks.

A number of mechanical fresh air & extract with heat recovery systems were provided to each cluster of kennels to extract air from the kennels & supply make-up air to the adjacent corridors.

Separate ventilation systems were provided to the isolation areas. Underfloor heating was provided throughout to maintain an even distribution of temperatures which ranged from 18-23C.

Box Twenty were commissioned by MJD to undertake a verification exercise of the mechanical design work undertaken and to act as Peer reviewers on the project.
