The provision of M&E consultancy services associated with the proposed redevelopment of the existing café at Bristol Cathedral on College Green in Bristol.

Box Twenty has worked with Shu Architects and the Bristol Cathedral to revitalise the cafe through creative use of space and implementation of efficient and sustainable technologies to complement the significant building which houses it.

The project briefly comprises:

• Refurbished café to provide up to 40no. covers;

• Raising of floor within café to make more accessible for users;

• Relocation of kitchen to opposite end of café;

• Opening up of walls with provision of sliding glazed doors fronting onto the external courtyard;

• External works to facilitate accessibility.

Box Twenty have been appointed to provide M&E design advice in order to establish the servicing strategies (heating, ventilation, hot water & lighting/power) for the café and to feed these into the architectural designs so that the project can be submitted for planning.
