Box Twenty were appointed to carry out a lighting assessment, a renewable energy assessment and a sustainable design and construction assessment to support a planning application at the proposed Edenbridge development in Kent.

Sevenoaks District Council have an emerging Policy CC1, which states that renewable technologies; sustainable design measures and decentralised energy and heating will be encouraged.

The adopted core strategy requires that all non-domestic buildings achieve a BREEAM Very Good. The Emerging Policy CC1 also states that all new non-domestic buildings will be required to achieve a BREEAM Excellent.In addition to this, all developments are required to reduce carbon emissions by 10% through the use of decentralised energy, renewables or low carbon technologies.

Box Twenty have been appointed by Pacalis to provide a Renewable Energy assessment and Sustainable Design and Construction Assessment and a Concept Lighting Design and a Lighting Impact Study. Depending on the findings and recommendations from the ecologist’s survey, a Baseline Night-time Light Survey may also be required.

Located in Edenbridge and the Local Authority is Sevenoaks District Council, the development comprises 100no. dwellings and will include a Golf Club House including hotel accommodation.
