The provision of Electrical Building Services consultancy services for the retail refurbishment project, North Fish, Bullring, Birmingham.

This was a fast-track project for a client who was new to UK building regulations & so we brought them up to speed on what was required for compliance prior to undertaking our designs.

We prioritised obtaining details of the fit-out equipment in order that we could undertake early electrical load assessments to ensure that the unit had sufficient electrical supply capacity.

The project was delivered successfully on time & led to other similar opportunities with this client.

The project comprises of the following:

• The fit-out of a retail unit within the existing Bullring Shopping Centre;

• North Fish Restaurant, to be located on Ground and 1st Floor of the Unit;

• Working with Mobius Works to provide Electrical Building Services design consultancy services only.

Box Twenty were appointed to provide Electrical Building Services consultancy services and undertook the following activities:

• Produced a detailed electrical design to RIBA Stage 4;

• Undertook general and emergency lighting calculations for all staff areas;

• Produced emergency lighting calculations; for customer areas;

• Undertook small power calculations;

• Undertook containment calculation;

• Produced a luminaire schedule and Distribution Board Schedules;

• Produced AutoCAD 2D drawings for Lighting, Small Power and Data and Containment.
