The provision of Mechanical, Electrical & Public Health consultancy services associated with an initial Technical Validation Review of the existing MEP designs then design of the residential apartments of Blocks E&W at the Paintworks site off the Bath Road in Brislington, Bristol.
New-build development of class B1 & class A3 commercial units, totaling 17no. units & 48no. residential apartments spread across 2no. blocks with shared basement areas including undercroft parking, plantrooms, cycle stores and bin stores.
Box Twenty were appointed initially, to undertake a validation of the existing consultants Stage 3 designs for the retail units & common basement areas, then to develop final design proposals & record drawings for the M&E Contractors whilst installations were rapidly progressing on site.
We then received a further appointment to validate the existing consultants Stage 3 designs for the residential units, consisting of 48no. apartments.
The M&E design proposals for the residential elements included the provision of a combined potable cold water & residential sprinkler tank, electric storage hot water cylinders for each apartment, with electric night-storage heaters within apartments to provide space heating.
We worked alongside the M&E Contractors to prioritise design elements & long-lead-in plant & equipment to facilitate installations & ensure that progress was being maintained on site.
We attended site on completion to witness test some of the electrical services & to facilitate handover of these elements of the development.
