The provision of Mechanical and Electrical consultancy services associated with providing recommendations to rectify the heating and heating control issues being experienced at St. Bonaventure’s Church.

Box Twenty Consulting Engineers were commissioned for this project associated with undertaking surveys & providing recommendations to rectify the existing heating and heating control issues being experienced at St. Bonaventure’s Church in Bristol.

Box Twenty were appointed to:

  • Undertake a survey of the new heating plant installation and associated controls;

  • Conduct a review of maintenance logs, drawings and records held by the church;

  • Understand particular issues of concern from the building users;

  • Production of a Recommendations Report detailing our findings and our proposed next steps.

The Church had undertaken a capital project to install new heating plant in the boiler room including several wall-hung boilers, which also provided domestic hot water to the church.

The heating controls were simple domestic style thermostats, which split the heating into 5no. zones, one of which was not currently in use.

It was understood that the Church would be pursuing a further capital project looking at improving heating pipework distribution and heat emitters. However, the focus of our work was to ensure the heating system was working as effectively as possible & to assist the church in avoiding large utility bills experienced the previous winter.

Box Twenty undertook the initial survey then produced our recommendations report outlining our findings and our proposed next steps.
