The provision of M&E consultancy services associated with the relocation of the Island Project to Jerrings Hall.

The project involes the refurbishment and part new-build education facility for young people with autism on thenew site for the school at Jerrings Hall, Tanworth Lane, Solihull, West Midlands on behalf of Sanderson Weatherall. The school’s existing premises are being demolished by the HS2 project, requiring the School to relocate.

The project comprises of the re-modelling and refurbishment of an existing Grade 2 listed residential estate consisting of timber framed manor house, ancillary stables, leisure building and outbuildings to suit the particular needs of this specialist eduction facility, which, whilst being an educational facility, was kept as a very domestic setting in terms of scope and scale.

There are also two new pre-fabricated modular buildings within the site to provide additional teaching space.

Box Twenty were appointed to provide M&E input, initially to undertake surveys of the existing buildings, then to provide input to develop the M&E designs to provide a package consisting of drawings, schedules and room data sheets to RIBA Stage 3 to be issued for Tender.

Our role also involved tender reviews on the M&E elements and for assisting with Contractor appointment.

Through the detailed design, construction and completion stages we will be responsible for reviewing the contractor’s design information, technical submittals, installation quality, commissioning and record information.
